Dear Representative,
I would like you to discuss with other democrat congress members to propose a motion to vacate the chair of the speaker of the house, Mike Johnson. I know you will need a total of 9 sponsors. Please find them.
I do not believe that Johnson is able to make wise decisions, but is only a puppet for the whims of the president, which are not always legal. Proof of this is the fact that democrat, Adelita Grijalva, was not sworn into her position as representative for Arizona for 7 weeks after she was elected. I understand that he believes that he is justified in making her wait because Nancy Pelosi did not swear in Julia Letlow in for 25 days when she was elected in 2021, but in that situation, the house was scheduled to be closed. In the situation with Grijalva, Johnson refused to call the house to order. Also republicans, Jimmy Patronis and Randy Fine were both sworn in within 24 hours of being elected. This is biased treatment.
Johnson’s actions have caused chaos in our country and might have caused federal employees to go without pay and people needing food assistance to be worried and wondering, nationwide. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Summer D Clemenson

Dear Representative,
It is Day 36. Google tells me this is the longest government shut down in our nation’s history. Republicans say it is the democrat’s fault because they wont cave to their wishes. Democrats say it is the republican’s fault because republicans wont open the house, Trump wont negotiate anything regarding the Affordable Care Act, and Adelita Grijalva has still not been sworn in. Here is the thing, even though Trump has been ordered by Federal Judges to make SNAP and WIC funding available he is choosing to appeal these rulings and break the law again. So guess who I think is wrong? All of you, especially the republicans.
The dems probably think they are stopping Trump’s administration from being completely lawless by keeping our government from functioning. I can see why they don’t want to give up any control they have because there are bills ready to be voted on to make voting very hard; which should never have been written because voting has always been facilitated by the states. Trump promised a lot of powers of the states would not be touched. But we know he is a liar. I am sending this message to many representatives, not just my own, so why are you supporting him? I understand that MAGAs support him, but they are not the only ones that you work for. Aren’t you tired yet?
I am exhausted. I am sick of the party fight too. Since we know the ACA is broken, why don’t you fix it. If that is your plan, why don’t you tell us? There are more poor in this country than there are wealthy. We count. We need to know that you are willing to stand for us. Why are you letting Trump starve the poor and gut Medicare? Why are you letting people go to work without paychecks? Why does Trump’s administration get to break the law without consequences? Why do you get a paycheck for no work, while our military, security guards and other federal employees don’t; while people die in plane crashes.
Please do the right thing. Please open the government and fight for all of us.
Sincerely,
Summer D Clemenson

Dear Representative,
As you know, the government shutdown has been upon us for 5 weeks on November 5, 2025. At first, I was ok with it, I thought it was noble. I thought it was right to help out all families that depend on the Affordable Care Act. But as we kept waiting, it got old.
As Air Traffic Controllers, Active Military, Federal Employees, In Hospital Medical Staff, FBI Agents, Border Patrol, Prison Guards & Emergency Response Workers like FEMA missed paychecks, but still had to work, I started to flinch. And then SNAP & WIC benefits were stopped & now I’m just angry.
I am neither a republican nor a democrat, you might not know that because I have voted for you. I am a free thinker. I believe that when the main parties have strong platforms to stand on they balance each other out & help all United States citizens to feel heard & served. My neighbors & I don’t feel served.
I have been reading what people have been saying about the shutdown & learning that people getting insurance outside of the ACA don’t get any subsidies, because the ACA only benefits families similar to a family of 3 making $106,000 or less. So with the tax benefit that only a certain part of the population gets, this has helped cause prices for healthcare to skyrocket. This is why republican voters don’t like the ACA.
However I know people that make much less than $106,000 who still can’t afford the ACA & yet they work. So the ACA is not working for the very poor either. They still need healthcare. But the subsidies end in January and insurance companies are sending out notices now & this is why democrats want the subsidies made permanent & they are demanding $50 billion to do it.
Republicans say they have a new healthcare plan but they wont tell anyone what it is. They just want the government opened. Democrats feel like they have to stand strong. I can empathize with this but people need to pay their bills & buy groceries, & let’s be real, programs like SNAP & WIC also support the stores & entities that supply the stores so it isn’t just about feeding people but supporting people at all levels.
I read today that 8 democrats have been meeting with Senate Majority Leader John Thune. SNAP is the reason for the change of pace. “Allowing nearly 42 million Americans to miss food assistance would be a ‘betrayal’ of Democratic values,” said Senator John Fetterman.
I want you to join the 8 democrats that are willing to open the government. I want people to be paid to do their jobs. I want people to get their SNAP & WIC benefits. I also want both democrats and republicans to work together to fix the ACA to benefit all United States citizens. We all deserve to be able to go to the doctor. You all should be working for us.
Put down the egos or party policies and be humans that serve us. Please.
Sincerely,
Summer D Clemenson

Dear Representative,
I am sitting in one of the richest countries in the world and yet people I know are being told they won’t get their SNAP benefits on November 1, 2025. I am trying to stay calm and think logically. $8 billion dollars cannot be found to feed people, families, children, disabled people and elderly in the United States of America and also support all the retailers that supply the grocery stores, but $20 billion was sent to Argentina. I don’t understand this. I thought Trump was all for America first. I thought he meant the United States.
Republican’s Big Beautiful Bill cut $186 billion from the SNAP program and then the USDA decided to not report on food insecurity anymore. Is that so that no one can see how big the need is, except for those who are starving? $300 million can be raised to build a ballroom in the White House, where we already had one, but we can’t feed families. The government can stay closed and you still get your pay checks while many other families are forced to work without pay. Why are you so special?
Honestly, I don’t know where to start. As a Washington State resident, I am shocked at the huge tax increases created by Governor Ferguson, especially during a time where we are also seeing huge tariffs, aka taxes, by Trump. These taxes on gasoline, businesses, sales tax, etc.. are making life very hard to afford. I voted for this man because I was afraid of what republicans were going to do and I see that democrats are hurting us too.
Every day there is something else that is happening that makes me wonder if you are working for me or against me and the people I care about, the people that might have voted for you. I need to see some change. I need to see that “We the People” are important.
By the way, when are you going to impeach Trump? Before or after he sells us to another country?
Sincerely,
Summer D Clemenson
by Summer D Clemenson | Oct 16, 2025 | Letters to My Representatives, Opinions
Dear Representative,
This government shutdown has been exhausting. Thank you for fighting for healthcare for all United States citizens. In a country as wealthy as we are, it baffles me why we can’t offer universal healthcare so that everyone is cared for and premiums are not affected by people that can’t pay their bills. Please keep fighting. Let’s talk about money.
As a related item, I hear that SNAP benefits are on the chopping block. If the government stays closed through November 1, SNAP will be held back. Please do what you can to open the government, but if that can’t happen, please protect the families that depend on these benefits. My family doesn’t meet the standard for these, but my best friend does, and we help where we can, but we can’t replace what SNAP gives her.
Another reason for this letter, is that I saw Representatives Melanie Stansbury and Angie Craig, in a video they posted on Facebook, explaining that Trump had promised $40 billion to Argentina. Regardless of the reasons they gave for this, doesn’t Congress have control over the purse strings? I personally don’t want to bail out Argentina. I would like my portion of the tax dollars to pay for our national debt.
In fact, I think it is more important to pay down our national debt than to add a ball room to the White House, built an Air Force base in Iowa for the use of training Qatar troops, or to federalize our military to use our military against our own people. I don’t know everything, but I remember being told the republicans were the party of the balanced budget, this is not that.
I want to share something personal with you. I am chronically ill and disabled. I rely on social security and my wife works 3 jobs to pay our bills. We are not fancy people. We have one car. It doesn’t run right now, and we can’t afford to replace it, but we are blessed because we have a friend who has an extra car that my wife has made a deal with to drive for the time being. We don’t drink alcohol, use drugs or smoke cigarettes. We don’t travel. We don’t go to the theater but we might splurge 1-2 times a year to see a movie. I buy almost all our clothes second hand. I cook most of our food from scratch because I have a lot of food sensitivities. We have a very short list of restaurants (based on whether I have gotten sick or not after eating there) that we might visit once a week. Did I mention we live in a hotel? It is impossible to save money to move when all your money goes to your rent. I know my story is slightly unique but not impossible.
Since June I have had a radiation treatment, 2 surgeries, many appointments with all my specialists, and lost at least 30 lbs. I did not have bariatric surgery. I have also continued to watch Trump and his cabinet and MAGAs that have done everything to make sure Trump is comfortable. Yet my anxiety is high. Even while I don’t read the news as often as I like and I leave the tv off until my wife gets home late at night.
I think it’s normal that I am having trouble finding my motivation since I have had so medical episodes back to back. But maybe this works as a metaphor for The United States. I have 14 diagnosed illnesses. Only one can be cured. But untreated, the one that can be cured, can kill me. The 13 diagnosis that can’t be cured, can be managed and with the right lifestyle choices, I can have decent quality of life.
I think lobbyist, manipulation, and anything that is not honest and black and white and pitting republicans against democrats or visa versa is like my cancer. We’ve had it a long time, but if we don’t get rid of it, we are doomed to die. Most of everything else is chronic and we have to learn to manage it efficiently, which means we have to very honest with ourselves, we must stop fighting, we must stop hating, and we must return to respecting our Constitution.
Sincerely,
Summer D Clemenson

Dear Representatives,
I am writing in regards to Trump’s H-1B Policy. I am very concerned to hear that he has decided to add a $100,000 fee to this non-immigrant visa program which already costs business owners about $10,000 per specialized worker to take advantage of. There are already strict time limits, education guidelines and lottery to get through. There are government, attorney and processing fees, on top of promise to pay progressive wages to these employees while they are in the United States.
The benefits of these employers cannot be ignored. The United States does not have enough of these highly trained people to fill the kinds of jobs these people can help us to maintain our ability to be competitive with the rest of the world. These people pay taxes, buy houses and cars while they are here for up to 6 years. If we allow Trump to add a $100,000 price tag to this program, businesses will be priced out. New start ups that might see huge success will not be able to afford to hire the expertise they need. The United States will not be successful. Jobs will be lost.
Please stop this policy. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Summer D Clemenson

Dear Representative,
I am very upset that Trump and Hegseth have illegally changed the name of the Department of Defense to the Department of War. I recognize not only is this actually a problem because now they can use money set aside for the Department of Defense for other things than it was originally meant for and find other money for the Department of War. But I also know the power of words and I am afraid for what this literally means for our country, which has been able to keep war from our shores since 1942. I am upset that the Department of Peace has been gutted and de-funded.
I would like to see Congress sue the Trump Administration for violating the Appropriations Clause. I would like to see the Government Appropriations Office to issue a binding decision that spending under the name “Department of War” is unlawful. I would like to see the encouragement of contractors, states, or others directly affected by misallocated funds so they could challenge the legality in federal court, by our representatives.
Thank you for your time. Please do what is right.
Sincerely,

Dear Representative,
I am writing to you in regards to H.R. 8445. From what I have read, in the past, when a person in the military, chose to leave our country to defend one of our allies, they left and were no longer paid by our tax dollars. But according to H.R. 8445 if one of our military members chooses to leave their post to fight for Israel, they will continue to be paid by our tax dollars, if this bill passes. I find this this to be a very troublesome idea.
- Why treat Israel different than any other ally?
- Israel is currently committing genocide against Palestine when the real offender is Hamas, who is supported by Iran.
- Why should we be paying the bill for this war?
I do not believe we should be supporting Israel in their goal in annihilating Palestine. Palestine is a country in need of help, not being destroyed. If Israel wants to continue to kill innocent people, let them do it by their own hand.
Please do not vote to pass this bill.
Sincerely,
Summer D Clemenson

Dear Representative,
I am writing to persuade you to not pass Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill. I don’t understand why Congress would want a plan that would raise the national debt ceiling to $4 trillion, while increasing taxes on people that make less than $157K, make huge cuts to SNAP and Medicaid, while requiring disabled people between the ages of 19-65 to work 20 hours a week, which might be a huge detriment to their health, while making them ineligible for their benefits. I don’t see why we are even considering pay increases to ICE when their budget is almost gone for the year. And why would a country that doesn’t care about its poor and sick enough to protect their health insurance and food assistance, even care about spending $75 billion on a Golden Dome? This program is a ridiculous waste of money from an administration that promised to get rid of waste and bloat, but has done nothing but create more of it.
Even if you personally are in agreement with me that this bill is actually a Monumental Malevolent Bill, you might be in the presence of someone who plans to vote for this reprehensible legislation and I need you to do whatever it takes to stop this bill from going through. This bill will cripple the people who actually do the work in this country so the rich can have their bonuses. The rich don’t need tax cuts, they already benefit from the hardworking people beneath them by hardly doing anything.
I am disabled. I have 13 chronic mental and physical illnesses plus cancer. The energy I do have before my body gives out on me, each day, is spent making sure my wife has clean clothes to wear and good food to eat so she can focus on her 3 jobs. We also help my friend that is disabled and has no spouse. This bill causes me a lot of stress. It is personal to me. I don’t care if you send a canned response to my message. What I want is to see that this rape against our society stops.
Trump is the worst president, I think, we have ever seen because he is completely removed from normal, everyday people. He hasn’t a clue what it is like to live under $100,000 a year, or less. Being poor is not evil or illegal, why should we pay so highly for it?
Please do your job. Please don’t let Trump stomp the life out of poor United States citizens.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Summer D Clemenson
PS I tried to read this bill. I have read several bills and this one was too much.

Dear Representative,
I am writing in regards to Trump’s Presidential Action: Strengthening and Unleashing America’s Law Enforcement to Pursue Criminals and Protect Innocent Citizens aka Martial Law.
Trump says he wants to “firmly police dangerous criminal behavior and protect innocent citizens,” stop citizens from “demonizing law enforcement and impose legal and political hand cuffs,” and stop cities that “unlawfully engage in discrimination or civil rights violations under the guise of ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion‘ initiatives that restrict law enforcement activity or endanger citizens. But these are all rights that should be left for the states to decide. Trump has said that the states should govern themselves, but he has changed his ways as he has tasted power that has gone unchecked by Congress and the Judicial Branch. He is establishing Martial Laws as he has been found guilty of breaking the laws he is supposed to uphold. I do not believe that the general public requires military intervention on our streets. I am seeing government failure and it makes me sad.
I have read articles that talk about civil war and world war and if it happens, it will be because you did not do your job. You are supposed to hold the president accountable. Judges are supposed to hold the president accountable. Yet he is being allowed to continue to blindly fire people and dismantle important institutions, Kilmar Abrego Garcia is still in El Salvador, regardless of what the court said, tariffs are ridiculous, civil rights are being stripped and Trump spends millions of dollars playing golf while pushing for massive cuts to Medicare and Social Security for people that can’t help themselves.
So you have 90 days to stop this executive order from coming to fruition and I am asking you to do something different than what has been happening. This 100 days has been so stressful and I am afraid of what is going to happen if we keep heading in this direction. Please impeach Trump.
Sincerely,

Dear Representative,
I saw a very moving testimony by Jason Deford, aka Jelly Roll, before the House about the Halt Fentanyl Act or H. R. 27. I see that it passed the House and I am glad.
I appreciate that this bill would permanently make fentanyl a class 1 controlled substance. I see that this bill would empower authorities to incarcerate drug dealers that sell substances containing this dangerous drug to longer sentences and hopefully this is an incentive to not sell, or at least get dealers off the streets. I also believe opening this drug up to more research opportunities is probably beneficial.
Please don’t let this bill die. Please make sure this bill is brought up for vote and when you have an opportunity to vote, please vote to pass H. R. 27.
Thank you for your time.

Dear Representative,
Senate Bill 5393 is horrendous! I am disgusted that the democrats voted for the largest budget in Washington State‘s history, including huge tax increases, all while our nation is being attacked by Trump and his MAGAs, and now, with all the money you have, you still want to shut down schools for humans with severe disabilities. Shame on you!
This is not what I voted for and not what I want to continue to vote for again. Please do better. Find a way to keep these people in their home and not shut down their school.

Dear Representative,
I am really disappointed that Trump has been allowed to break the law time and time again. I read that ICE agents stopped a train, randomly, to question United States citizens and foreign visitors who were traveling in our country. Nothing was found to be out of order. Are you satisfied with us being forced to become comfortable with a police state, because I am not. I have not voted for this. I didn’t even vote for Trump.
I keep watching first amendment rights being ignored and I worry because I believe we have come far with civil rights and it seems at the whim of an unbridled government, those rights are not being protected. You and your colleagues are not working fast enough to make me feel safe. I felt a lot safer with President Biden at the helm.
Trump is ignoring Supreme Court Justices. He could get Kilmar Abrego Garcia released if he really wanted to. He has refused to pay people until he got what he wanted before, this is the same as that. By the way, why are we paying $6 million to a prison outside of The United States? I didn’t vote on that? I don’t want my tax dollars going to a foreign jail. There are better ways to help other countries.
I am very unhappy with what is happening in our country and what other countries are saying about our country. I think Trump is the worst president we have had in my lifetime. Please do better to get him out of office. Please bring justice back to our people.
Sincerely,
Summer D Clemenson

Dear Representative,
I just heard that The Senate just passed HB-1526 and I am disgusted. My only hope is that I can persuade Congress to not pass the No Rogue Rulings Act. Presidents should not be able to break the law. The Constitution specifically says the president’s job is to uphold the law.
Federal Courts need to be able to issue nationwide orders when the government is violating United States citizens’ rights. The courts need to be able to protect The Constitution. Every person in The United States of America needs due process and deserves democracy.
Please do your job and advocate for all of us.
Sincerely,

Dear Representative,
I am so tired. Every day I could write to you about another issue due to the horrible state we are in because of the control that MAGA republicans, and maybe even some democrats, want to have over every part of our lives and I am so angry and frustrated that I don’t like some of the things I think about. But today I want to talk about the “Save Act.”
I am seriously concerned about my mental health right now, so I am not going to write much, but being a fellow woman, you should already know why expecting people to produce a birth certificate or a passport in order to register to vote is bullshit. I ordered a copy of my birth certificate a couple months ago and it is not here. Trump probably fired the person who was supposed to print it out and mail it to me. I haven’t considered leaving the country for at least 20 years and I don’t think I can get a passport without my birth certificate, so you can see where I am going with this. My greatest concern is that when my wife and I married, she took my name. My wife is a United States Army Veteran and it really pisses me off that because she decided to take my name, that she might not get to vote; she was willing to die for this country and yet if you let this bill pass, she won’t be allowed to vote.
My wife is one of the best people I have ever met. She works hard. She is kind and caring. She gives every day her best. She deserves to vote. Please don’t let her lose this right.

by Summer D Clemenson | Mar 26, 2025 | Letters to My Representatives, Opinions
Dear Representative,
The other night I saw an interview with Howard Ludnick, our nation’s commerce secretary, where he believes that if his mother-in-law didn’t get her social security check that she would not complain, but if a person committing fraud, didn’t get their’s, they would complain. I am thankful that his mother-in-law has other options. The premise of Ludnick’s whole interview was that everyone on Social Security has a backup plan but there are so many people that just plain need our checks. We can’t wait a month for ours to show up. Social Security isn’t a ponzi scheme, even if Elon Musk wants to name it that. It is a lifesaver for me and my family.
When I say my family, I am referring to my wife and I, but also my best friend that doesn’t live with us. My homebound friend receives Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, and food assistance but once her rent is paid, she is out of money. Her food assistance doesn’t allow her to buy enough fresh vegetables so we help her with that. She is part of my household budget, as well as her sister and maybe a few other people that help her. If I don’t get my Social Security and Medicare (I am not eligible for food assistance or Medicaid), I don’t have health insurance to help me deal with my 13 chronic conditions, plus cancer. But I also help pay many of my household’s regular bills, while my wife works 3 jobs to pay the rest of our bills; For several months one of her jobs has not had hours to give her so we have be struggling. It would be impossible to stay afloat without my check, not just for my house, but for my friend. We are already not doing as much for her as we like to because my wife has not been able to bring in as much as usual. If I were to complain to Social Security about a missing check, I am not defrauding anyone. I honestly need help.
It seems to me that our current administration is so far removed from the chronically ill and poor. They have no idea what it is like to need. I am thankful that many people don’t have to be creative with their resources. I don’t think some people have the fortitude for the life that I live, but to know that everyone in our president’s cabinet is without empathy or compassion and even the majority of Congress can be swayed by a president without feeling or warmth or even regard for human life, at all, makes me very afraid for our future, not only my personal future, but our future as a country.
Please continue to encourage all of Congress to do their job to protect Social Security.
Sincerely,

Dear Representative,
I am writing in regards to a Yemen airstrike fiasco that should never have happened. In an open chat, on an unsecured platform, Pete Hegseth, JD Vance, Mike Waltz, Marco Rubio, Tulsi Gabbard, John Ratcliffe other high ranking officials and Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic Magazine, war plans were discussed in detail, including types of weapons and times and places.
I have seen parts of interviews where congressmen have made excuses or outright lied about this event. I watched a video by Pete Buttigieg where he described the layers of protection and secrecy required for our nation’s protection. I even watched Trump say he knew nothing about the event, however the strike was a tremendous success. I have never heard a president say he didn’t know what was going on with the planning of an air strike before.
With at least 53 people killed and 98 injured, and since most of the casualties were Yemen civilians, how can this strike be seen as a success? I thought the strike was supposed to target Houthi terrorists? I see this military action to be a total loss. I see this entire regime as careless, reckless and detrimental to our nation. I believe that everyone in that text message should be fired and jailed for treason and espionage.
Please keep working hard to encourage all of Congress to do their job.

Dear Representative,
I am writing regarding a post I saw about a budget proposal that includes the highest tax increase in Washington State history. The writer of this post believes that because of record breaking spending, we are consistently spending more money than we bring in. If this is the case, then before you raise our taxes, it seems you should take an honest look at our budget and reign in spending now before you spend another dime.
At this time, United States citizens are already spending a lot of money just to live and are worried about where we will be in a few months as our president has placed us in a tariff war and a recession might be on the way. We are not interested in increased property taxes, a 50% business and occupation tax increase, or to have not only national but statewide increases on costs of goods and services.
My friend, I strongly encourage you to rethink your budget if you want to remain in office.
Sincerely,

Dear Representative,
My argument for FEMA is based on my very limited trauma response training and my limited but, in my opinion, larger experiences with trauma. When your group has undergone a traumatic experience, they may be in shock, they may be confused, they may not be able to cope or make good decisions. There might be medical conditions that need addressing. There are many reasons that the group cannot take care of itself.
DJT has stated in his executive order that he wants states to handle their own emergencies.
With our knowledge of trauma, it is helpful if someone from the outside, that is not currently dealing with trauma and can see clearly, might be better able to serve those who are in a crisis. Even if the help is limited, time constrained or must be paid back, it is helpful in the moment to have someone who hasn’t just lost their loved ones or their possessions or home to be strong for others.
Fundraising efforts, donation collection and allocating should not have to be done by people that are grieving. A president that doesn’t understand this is not ready to lead people. The stoppage of FEMA is wrong.
There are United States citizens in Kansas, Texas, Arkansas, Georgia and Oklahoma that have been affected by severe weather, not to mention parts of Oregon and maybe more that I have missed. FEMA was not perfect, but they did the best they could to help people in our country when they needed it. If it is time to rebuild the program, do it, but keep it running while you do. Caring for our people is not rocket science. It is what we do.
The president is one man. I have read the constitution. Congress was meant to hold the power until the people voted them out. This was so no one person would run our government. Our current president doesn’t understand that his job is to uphold the law, not bend it to his will. Please do your job.
Sincerely,

Dear Representative,
I have been waiting patiently to hear of the reinstatement of the Inspectors Generals that Trump fired the first week of his term. It was a shock to hear about but it has become a greater shock that you have done nothing to fix this situation.
I understand that maybe these people do not want their jobs back after this type of humiliation but I believe in checks and balances, as our founding leaders foresaw we would need to ensure protection from leaders that didn’t respect our laws or the constitution. What are you doing to restore the balance in our country where nonpartisan people make sure that we are safe and programs are not being taken advantage of?
I personally don’t believe DOGE has my personal best interests in mind. How could it, when its leader is best friends with the president and one of his largest campaign donors? DOGE cannot be nonpartisan. In fact, DOGE was not voted in by the people so there two counts against it, in my opinion.
I am of the mindset, as Trump becomes more and more brazen that he does not respect the laws of the United States of America and should not be our president. We need to have our Inspectors Generals restored in order to protect us from a corrupt regime that only follows the laws that they want to.
Sincerely,
Summer D. Clemenson

Dear Representative,
I am very concerned that am hearing conflicting messages regarding Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare. As a disabled person I rely on two of these programs. I know many people who also rely on these programs. My wife, Karen G Clemenson, is a veteran and she too has had trouble receiving services in the past and now we see veterans being fired and services being slashed. How does this encourage young people to serve our country if they know they won’t be supported if they come home and need help?
The plans of the Trump administration do not serve the everyday people in the United States. Tax cuts for the wealthy do not build GDP or add to our economy. Rich people just hold their money in savings accounts. This might help our interest rates but not the interest of the people. Cutting the programs of the least of these is not going to strengthen America.
I encourage you to assert the power given to you by our Constitution and overpower our reckless president. His tariffs and lack of regard for first amendment rights for citizens and press are childish. His comments regarding being king are unconstitutional. His authoritarian and transactional methods of leadership are not American, at least in the way that we have worked hard to build relationships with other countries over the years.
Please do your job.
Sincerely,
Summer D. Clemenson
