I found my baby book a couple weeks ago and in it was a note from my mom, when I was 6; she said I prayed a lot on my own and spoke of spiritual things. I don’t remember this but I do remember the day I met Jesus. I was and playing alone in my backyard. That was 33 years ago. As of 2 days ago, I have committed myself to more prayer and time with God. I have repented for not living in my gifts and allowing God to use me to His fullest. I will probably have to do this many times. As I have already done this many times in my walk with Jesus; even in the last month.
Ephesians 2:1-10
“And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
But God who is rich in mercy because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
For we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
I woke up crying today. My heart is missing so many people. All that are not in my immediate surroundings; some because their paths led in another direction, some because they have stepped off their path, and some because I hurt them because they hurt me. Being human is so limiting. We just don’t see everything from our vantage point. Luckily if we are looking toward the Lord we don’t have to worry because He is always working in us and for us to bring us into the revelation of the fullness of His complete salvation.
Philippians 2:13
“for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.”
One of my gifts (maybe the one that helps me and hurts me the most) is that I can feel other’s feelings. I feel so much anger in people, I read our anger in articles, I see it on the news and in posts on Facebook, I hear it in conversations. I sometimes have to clarify with God, whether this anger is mine or the feelings of others. I feel so much of my own anger that I must look at, confess and repent for. It is hard to forgive constantly but that is what being a human is. We all have our own path. We all have our own viewpoint. We all have our own agenda. Repentance leads to righteousness because as we recognize that our agenda is not His, our own viewpoint is not His and our own path may not be the path He created us for, we feel compelled by the Holy Spirit to find out what His will is.
Ephesians 4:21-24
“if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”
I invite you to sit with Jesus and discuss what is making you angry. Even in our giving and serving we can be sinning.
Why?
Because sin is anything that gets between you and Jesus.
If you are angry, don’t sin.
Ephesians 4:26-32
“Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.
Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another even as God in Christ forgave you.
How do you do this?
Express and possess your feelings and confess them to Jesus so that He can be forgiveness in you. When He brings you through forgiveness, which He will do as you tell Him what happened and how you feel about it, He will help you see His Viewpoint, His Path for you and His agenda. If we hold tightly to our ministries, we will not see nearly as many blessings as if He owns them because we will eventually color it and own it in ourselves and no human is above reproach.
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Remember the scripture that says: Judge not, lest ye be judged? A definition for that is if I can judge you, you can judge me. If you are hurting me, I am probably hurting you or I did hurt you.
Matthew 7:1-2
“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgement you judge, you will be judged: and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.”
Love, Joy, Peace, Forbearance, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness. Gentleness and Self-Control are all in us when we have accepted Jesus as our Savior because they are the fruit of the spirit; “Against such things there is no law.” They are available to us through Jesus and are necessary tools for our walk on this earth. I pray you accept and seek these gifts with all your heart. When you do this, loving is so much easier.
Galatians 5:22-26
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kinds, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such their is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
My name is Summer. That is how you can call me. I hope that I am a blessing to you. I am not perfect. I will fall again. But I am forgiven.
